Blank Walls facilitated the creation of this stunning mural titled On Hold, led by renowned Australian artist Krimsone and assisted by fellow Aussie Jasmine Crisp. Painted in Wandsworth, London, the mural is a deeply personal, self-reflective piece for Krimsone, exploring the weight of distance and the tension between life’s responsibilities and being enamoured.

Birds are a recurring motif in Krimsone’s work, and in this mural, he depicts himself as a bird, gathering objects for a nest. The objects, like a vintage phone and teapot, symbolise emotional ties and the comforts of home. The phone off the hook speaks to the challenge of staying connected to loved ones who are far away, embodying the idea of longing, while juggling the daily pressures of life.
